Typical obfuscation by Congress. Of all the people who should NOT be taxed for this type of necessity its our brother veterans.
There is one other hidden motive here that the Congress Critters do not think the American public is aware of; where the money will come from and where it will go. Both important factors when you talk tax revenue. Well, mostly of “IT” will come from the veterans V.A. compensation. A 100% disabled vet gets barely enough compensation to care for his family and perhaps a small Stipend for other benefits such as re-hab. This “tax” will be taking some of that money back by way of the back door. Where will it go? Good question. No details on that topic in the bill signed and passed by Obama. For years, the only way that the administration could filch any money from the military was to hit their very healthful military retirement fund. They found a way to do this by taking an “offset” from the fund when the vet applies for V.A. Comp. An illustration, when a MOH recipient ( Medal Of Honor) applies for medical attention with the Veterans’s administration, he has to forfeit the special 5% additional pension that he gets because of his valor–

One of the reasons they (Congress and Senate) have no empathy for vets is, that only less than 5% have ever worn the uniform. Only 6% have any relation presently serving. Joe Biden is the exception. His Son is in Iraq.
