I have this friend, XXXX, who sends me every single conspiracy laden story she gets in her mailbox and expects me to publish it up on my veterans’ website–http://www.wesupportthevets.com. XXX is truly well-intentioned but she has a fault.
She never checks the validity of the stuff she gets.
Not even a simple “ SnopesCheck” which would kick out 75% of the ilk. I truly expect XXX to send me one that certifies that Jummy Hoffa was kidnapped by aliens.
Today, most readers are savvy enough to realize that about 90% ( maybe more) of these are just scammers designed to harvest your email addy which they in turn sell to heavy duty scammers. Somewhere I read that the going price was $.05 per address that the spammer didn’t already have. Now THERE is a qualifier if ever. The spammer will pay the bandit $.05 for the address IF THEY DO NOT ALREADY HAVE IT IN THEIR DATABASE. Hello? whats this? Trust among criminals? Just out of curiosity, what do YOU use to check your email for truth? Let me know on a reply. I may be missing a nugget here for research.
